Current Projects

The United States is one of the largest coal producers in the world and has a significant coal reserve base – enough to meet North America’s energy needs far into the future. Until now, coal has been burned as a fuel for steam boilers, and environmental concerns have limited its role in North America’s energy future.

DKRW Advanced Fuels is working to overcome those limitations. We’re tapping proven hydrocarbon conversion technology, to convert our nation’s valuable coal resources, and other abundant hydrocarbons such as petcoke and asphaltene into ultra-low sulfur gasoline and other products.

With more than twelve million barrels per day of oil's refined gasoline and other products imported into the US this year and record prices at the pumps for transport fuels,  the time is right for clean, market-competitive products produced from more abundant domestic resources.

In partnership with leading industry and financial partners, DKRW Advanced Fuels is moving to be the first to market with the development of a Coal-to-Liquids facility in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, while also pursuing projects in other parts of the U.S. and internationally.
